Mission Statement
At Golden Hill Wood, we are building a future where people and nature thrive together. As a women- and non-binary-led project, we are passionate about creating an inclusive space where rural skills, conservation, and community come together to support both people and the land.
Our mission is to:
• Share rural skills with everyone—especially those who may not have had the opportunity or confidence to learn hands-on, practical skills in traditional spaces.
• Foster a welcoming, open environment where curiosity, learning, and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do.
• Make the countryside a place for all, ensuring that rural spaces remain vibrant, lived-in, and accessible to people from all walks of life.
• Support biodiversity and conservation, caring for the land in a way that nurtures wildlife and helps ecosystems flourish.
• Bring the woodland into sensitive, sustainable management, producing valuable homegrown materials—such as timber, craft resources, and other woodland products—without harming nature.
We especially encourage women and those who may feel less confident in practical skills to join us, free from judgment, in a space that values growth, experimentation, and mutual support.
Through openness, curiosity, and a deep respect for the environment, we are building not just a woodland, but a community—one where people can reconnect with nature, learn new skills, and be part of something bigger
